Kroc Center Vision Statement

As an expression of The Salvation Army’s mission, the vision of a Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center is to provide opportunities for all to discover and develop their full potential through Christ-centered, professional quality programs.

WE CAN HELP BRING OUR CITY TOGETHER BY DECLARING OUR LOVE TO ALL OF ITS CHILDREN AND SHOWING THEM THE FAITH WE HAVE IN THEIR FUTURE.

Joan Kroc, wife of McDonald’s founder Ray Kroc, took a tour of San Diego and recognized a community that was in need of a safe gathering place with facilities to nurture social skills, arts appreciation, and athletic potential.  She provided The Salvation Army with the funds to build the first Kroc Center in San Diego. Prior to Mrs. Kroc’s passing, being so pleased with the finished Kroc Center, she left The Salvation Army with a trust to build more Kroc Centers across the country. Today, there are 26 Kroc Centers nationwide.
